As a result of continued growth, Procopio has expanded its operations in downtown San Diego and Del Mar Heights, California, occupying additional office space to better accommodate its attorneys and staff while ensuring more state-of-the-art client meeting and event space. All told, approximately 62,000 square feet of office space was either added or refurbished in the expansion. This is the latest sign of growth for the full-service business and litigation AmLaw 200 law firm, the largest headquartered in San Diego. Procopio previously opened a new office in Las Vegas, Nevada, last fall, and is consistent with the firm’s long-term growth strategy.

“Our focus is not growth for growth’s sake, but rather a result of our ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of client service,” said Managing Partner John D. Alessio. “Through strategic hiring of top legal talent and a focus on modern and technologically sophisticated facilities, we’re able to better serve our clients and the greater community. That commitment is reflected in our status as a Top Ten Firm for Attorney Diversity as ranked by AmLaw 200 and a San Diego Union-Tribune Top Workplace.”

Procopio expanded in its downtown San Diego location at 525 B Street, a 22-story office tower known as the Procopio Tower. Previously occupying five floors as the building’s largest tenant, the firm now occupies a sixth floor, the 18th. The buildout resulted in a 22% growth to 107,957 square feet of office space. The 18th floor underwent a custom buildout prior to occupancy, and includes a state-of-the-art conference and training center. Procopio’s public reception area remains on the 22nd floor.

Significant expansion has also occurred at Procopio’s Del Mar Heights office at 12544 High Bluff Drive. Previously occupying the entire third floor of the four-story building, Procopio now occupies the entire fourth floor while also maintaining third-floor office space. The result was a 39% increase in space to 40,325 square feet. As with the firm’s downtown office, both the third and fourth floor of the Del Mar Heights office underwent a significant remodel before occupancy. Along with modern office and event space, the floor features custom skylights and access to multiple open-air balconies. The expansion also allowed Procopio to dedicate several hundred feet of office space to startup entrepreneurs in its ongoing LaunchPad incubator program.

Full-service construction management company KCM Group oversaw construction, with Bycor General Contractors as the contractor. Architectural services were provided by Carrier Johnson. Select photos can be found below; these and others at high resolution are available upon request.
