KCM GROUP NEARS COMPLETION OF NEW SYCUAN GOVERNMENT CENTER

KCM Group, construction management firm for the Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians, announced today that they have reached the final phase of construction for the Tribe’s latest project, a new Tribal Government Center Complex. This $4.6 million project includes two buildings totaling 15,000-square-feet that will house the Tribal Council offices, Tribal Council Chambers, legal and administrative offices, and offices for Tribal development, accounting, and support services. The new complex replaces the current government building, which is being demolished to make way for a road and infrastructure upgrade needed to improve access and services to the Reservation.

“The new Tribal Government Center Complex will help us better serve the needs of the Reservation and its residents,” said Daniel Tucker, Chairman of the Sycuan Band. “KCM Group’s involvement has been critical in helping us through design, bidding, and construction and keeping the project on schedule and on budget.”

The new facility is located overlooking the Reservation and includes a parking lot, extensive landscaping, new underground utilities and infrastructure. The main building features a dramatic entrance with stone columns and classic pediment, and a lobby with custom tile flooring and custom Japanese cherry millwork. Green construction methods and LEED design features are being utilized throughout the project. The project will be complete and ready for occupancy in this spring.
